On Saturday 20th August club members Simon's Taylor and Giddings completed a three day, 237 mile tour of all 60 grounds currently being used by clubs in the Nidderdale and District Amateur Cricket League, "The Around the Grounds Cycle Challenge".

At 10.30am on Wednesday 17th August Sir Thomas Ingleby, President of the Nidderdale League, accompanied by Trisha Heard, League Secretary, got the challenge underway as the two departed from the club grounds.

Over the next three and a half days they visited all sixty grounds currently used within the league, finishing in Middleham on Saturday 20th August, in time for Simon Taylor to play in the 1st XI league fixture.  The challenge totalled 237 miles and took in some of Nidderdale's finest scenery and hills!.

The ride has raised an aproximated excess of £2000 to be split between:  Martin House Children's Hospice based in Boston Spa, and also refurbishments and extension to our clubhouse.

The club would like to acknowledge the generosity of all who so kindly sponsored and supported this event it was a very fine effort.  Both Simons wish to especially thank the support team of Bob Taylor, Ross Atkinson and Will Giddings who kept them going over the three days.  Well done and thanks to all involved.
