2011 - 1st XI Division 2
Champions Saturday 27th August 2011
With
two games in hand and following a rain affected match
against Knaresborough Forest the 1st XI were crowned 2nd
Division Champions. Losing only once in 20 games this
is a fantastic achievement that sees Spofforth back in 1st
division cricket within one season of moving to the
Nidderdale League. The club warmly congratulates all
those who have played in and supported the 1st XI this
season - this is a really terrific result for the club and
well deserved of a team who have worked very hard. We
hope that you'll join us to celebrate on the last home game
of the season, Saturday 10th September against Newby Hall. |

2011 - Spofforth 1st XI Win
1st Silverware in the Nidderdale League, Tuesday 9th August
Congratulations
to the 1st XI who beat Galphay & Winsksley by 3 wickets in
the final of The Barratt Cup to claim Spofforth's first
silverware of the new era in The Nidderdale League.
Set a total of 97 to win it was all to come down to the last
over. With 9 runs required 4 runs were scored from the
first 4 deliveries and then a no ball leaving 4 off four
balls. A 3 followed by a dot ball had the crowd
enthralled but wicket keeper Ross Atkinson held his nerve
and found the boundary with the seventh delivery ensuring
victory for Spofforth. Well done lads!! |

2011 - Under 15's League
Semi-Final v's Harrogate "A"
Our
U15's have qualified for the semi-final playoffs in their age
group league. In order to do so they were top of the
Southern Division by some margin losing only one of their 9
league games. The match scheduled for Sunday 10th July v's
Harrogate "A", runners up in the premier division, got underway
with Harrogate winning the toss and electing to bat.
Spofforth worked hard to restrict an undeniably talented batting
line up to 166 for the loss of 7 wickets off 22 overs.

June 2011 - Nidderdale League
- 1st XI
Interesting
fact......11 games into the 22 game season, that'll be halfway
then, and Spofforth 1st XI are the only unbeaten side in the
Nidderdale League. Spofforth top division 2 by six points
from Bishop Thornton in second and Knaresborough Forest in
third. All-in-all a way to go but not a bad start to life
in the Nidderdale League. |

2011 - Junior Cricket - The
Story So Far....
Currently
the U15's, U13's and U9's sit at the top of their respective
group tables with our young U11's working very hard and showing
great potential for next season. The U15's will now enter
the three match Round Robin stage of the league to decide who
will play-off with the runner's up in the Premier League for a
place in the final. The U13's, unbeaten thus far, will play all
teams in their league once again to qualify for the semi final
against the runners-up in the Premier League. The U9's
will play a three match Round Robin to qualify for the
semi-finals. Complicated - you bet!

2011 - U9's Go Right To The
Wire In The Coad Cup - Sunday 5th June 2011
In
our first Cup Final of the year (but hopefully not last -
Seniors?) our magnificent Under 9's reached the final of the
above in an emotional rollercoaster of a day only to face their
nemesis North Stainley "A", the only team to have beaten them
thus far in the league. Sadly we ended as runner's up but
that should not overshadow this magnificent achievement by a
team who are nearly all new to competitive Cricket this season.
The future's bright - the future's Spofforth!
