cricketForce 2010 - Saturday 27th March

Cricket force is an initiative set up by the England & Wales Cricket Board in 2002 to encourage cricket supporters, their friends and families to give something back to their local community cricket club by volunteering to undertake major renovations to clubhouses and grounds.

At Spofforth we have been involved since 2006, carrying out such major projects as building the new electronic scorebox and extending the boundaries as well as all the more minor maintenance work necessary to keep the ground and facilities in the condition for which we as a club are renowned.

This year whilst we have no major projects planned there is as usual much to do to get ready for the forthcoming Senior and Junior Season.  The club has set up a small sub committee, under the chairmanship of the treasurer, with a view to making the most of the opportunity.  The sub committee has already met and identified many small jobs that will need attending to.

We hope that you will do now is make a note in your diary of the date and come down and give us a hand to spruce the place up ready for the forthcoming season. There is plenty to do without going to any great expense.

Ross Atkinson has agreed to hold a Junior Training session so the younger children can be kept amused whilst many of the older ones might get to grips with some CricketForce activities themselves.  There will be refreshments on tap and who knows a barrel of something good might become available.

The club belongs to its members and we need all the help we can muster so come and get "down and dirty" with us on Saturday 27th March 2010 .  For pictures of previous year's activities please click here.
